The municipality of Cervantes celebrated the Children’s Month last November 26, 2019 in the Municipal Gymnasium. This event was enjoined with the presence of Mr. Carlito T. Iligan, CNHS School Principal as the guest speaker: Hon. Pablito Benjamin P. Maggay II, Municipal Mayor; Hon. Armado P. Gaburno, Municipal Vice Mayor; SBM Members- Hon. Rose C. Pe, Committee on Child Protection: Hon. Julieta B. Valdez, Hon. Edgardo Cortez, and Hon. Rodolfo Gaburno; MSWD Officer Cristy Marie P. Viernes with her office staffs.
Dr. Jose Rizal once said, “the YOUTH is the HOPE of the Nation”. This idea should always be carried out by parents as they are responsible in raising their child. This program allows the children and their parents to bond with the reminders of leaders who had been supportive in the development of children. Mr. Carlito Iligan shared the 10 rights of a child. From conception of the reproductive cells, both from parents, the right of children begins.
Hon. Pablito Benjamin Maggay pointed out his experience as a parent and explained that it is hard to let a child get away with threats but as parent, he should always try. His given example are gadgets, child cannot get away with these things which lessens the chance of parents to bond with each other. It is really important to not always expose children to those gadget activities, like gaming. As experts studied that early exposure of child to gadget applications would let them adopt unworthy behaviors.
